Personal Service Payments

The institution is required by IRS and the state to report nonpayroll expenditures to individuals, partnerships and other organizations for personal services.

The government requires name, address, and taxpayer identification number (social security or federal ID) for each individual or organization receiving payments. These payments are reported to the IRS on Form 1099. A copy of the form is furnished to the taxpayer.

All payment requests submitted to the accounting department must include this information before a check can be released.

Mercyhurst employees are paid through payroll only.
