Welcome to the Counseling Center
The Counseling Center provides confidential, professional counseling to Mercyhurst College students at no direct charge to the student. Students are dealing with a variety of issues, including,
- Adjustment to college
- Peer or family relationships
- Depression
- Anxiety/Stress
- Alcohol or other substances
- Eating Disorders
- Anger management
- Grief/loss/trauma
To make an appointment call x3650. Students experiencing urgent or crisis concerns can walk-in at the Center, and after a brief triage, will either be seen immediately or given an appropriate time. An on-call counselor is available 24/7 during the fall, winter and spring term, and can be reached by contacting Residence Life or Police and Safety. All therapists are licensed, experienced behavioral health professionals.
Students can complete in advance the initial information required for the first appointment by printing out the form. Otherwise, the student should arrive 15 minutes ahead of the appointment time to complete it on site.
Please do not hesitate to contact the Center. No issue is too large or small. If you have a question or concern, but are not sure about coming in, please call x3650 and a counselor will return your call. In case of an after-hours emergency, please refer to the crisis contact information.
Take a few minutes to explore the links on this page. They provide access to confidential on-line screenings and resource information on a range of issues.
