First in service to the Mercyhurst Community
The Mercyhurst Community can feel confident in knowing that
our Police and Safety Department has the expertise and experience
that only comes from years of dedicated service in the Police
and Fire Safety field. The following is a short biography
of management.
Homeland Security Website
The motto of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's department is "Don't be afraid, be ready." Their website (http://www.ready.gov/) will help you do just that – 'be ready.' You'll find instructions to "Make A Kit" of emergency supplies, "Make A Plan" for what you will do in an emergency and also find information so that you can "Be Informed" about what might happen in the event that various threats become reality. "Preparing makes sense" so please visit this site to insure your preparedness.
Confidential Contact Information Sheet
As a response to the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008, the office of Police and Safety has made available the following Confidential Contact Information sheet. As required by the law signed by President George Bush in 2008, we are making this form available to all students of Mercyhurst College via email. This form can also be found at the Police and Safety office and online on Police and Safety’s Lakernet page. This form allows the student to designate a contact person in the event that they are missing. This form will help college officials investigate any type of incident where a student is missing. This form can be filled out in any of the above ways and returned to Police and Safety in the lower level of McAuley Hall.
