Printing Instructions
To Print your document
1. Print your document from your workstation.
The printer selection should be the HP Laser Jet 4000 or HP Laser Jet 4050. Enter your last name when prompted.
2. At the print station, move the mouse to begin
3. ENTER YOUR USER ID
STUDENTS: Your user ID is the first initial of your first name, the first five letters of your last name and the last two digits of your social security number.
(e.g. if your name is Robert Johnson and your S.S. # is 000 00 0013, you would type rjohns13)
If you do not have a S.S. #, use the last two digits of your birthday
(e.g. if your birthday is 08/24/85 then type rjohns85)
4. PRESS THE TAB KEY or click the mouse to place the cursor in the password field.
5. ENTER YOUR PASSWORD
Your password is the last 6 digits or your social security number.
(e.g. 000013)
If you do not have a S.S. #, you would use your birthday as your password. (e.g.082485)
If you are NOT A STUDENT or YOU HAVE USED UP YOUR 100 FREE PRINTS, you must have a cash card with money on it, which you can purchase at the Vending Machine in the Library or at the DocuCenters.
(Note: Each print will cost $.10) Insert the Card, then
PRESS THE GUEST LOGIN BUTTON
6. PRESS ENTER or click on the login button.
All documents available for printing are now shown.
Find the document you wish to print.
Select that document
to select more than one document, use CTRL-click or the right mouse button
The total cost of your printing is now shown in the bottom left corner.
7. CLICK THE PRINT BUTTON.
You must have as much money on your card or as many free prints remaining as the cost of the print job you are printing. If you do not, you must add more money to your card. Document(s) should now print out.
8. CLICK TO LOG OFF (doing nothing for 20 seconds will also log you off)
You do not have to wait for your document to print before exiting.
BE SURE TO TAKE YOUR CARD WITH YOU!
NOTE: If you don’t print your job within 2 hours of submitting it from your workstation, then it will automatically be removed from the system.
If your JOB FAILS TO PRINT
Check the printer for error messages. If you have further problems, see a lab/library employee.
