The Facility
The Mercyhurst College Recreation Center is a multi-purpose facility utilized by Mercyhurst College students, faculty, administration, staff and alumni. The Mercyhurst College Recreation Center is open seven days per week. The recreation center offers various aerobic classes, spinning classes and other various fitness programs. Below is a description of the facilities in the Center.
CARDIO MASTER STRENGTH TRAINING AREA
One-level facility features state-of-the-art aerobic equipment (steppers, cycles, treadmills, rowing machines, and elliptical trainers), weight training circuits, free-weight equipment and a carpeted stretching area. Full-length mirrors also highlight the weight training circuit and free weight area.
BASKETBALL COURTS/ MULTI-PURPOSE FLOOR
Two full-size courts used for basketball, and volleyball. At various times of the school year, Mercyhurst College athletic teams will use the multi-purpose floor to conduct practices and conditioning.
FREE WEIGHT AND DUMB BELL ROOM
Back room features heavier free weights, squatting racks, bench presses and other various weight benches and machines.
CHANGING AREA
A carpeted changing area with benches, shelves and coat hooks.
AEROBICS AND DANCE ROOM
Room features sprung wood floor suitable for dance and other selected activities, while lined with full-length mirrors.
MULTIPURPOSE ROOM (Kickboxing, Boxing, Grappling)
Floored with full cushioned mats, full-length mirrors, and supplied with a full-body punching bag.
SPINNING ROOM
Room features sprung wood floor, with spinning bikes and an excellent cooling system.
